General information about the property:
Our new addition, holiday home Snigsfjorden, is just a stone's throw away, on the banks of the Sniksfjorden on Spangereidveien, in a beautiful and sheltered location in the attractive Mørkesdal/Snig, part of the municipality of Vigeland. The famous Naversund fjord and the popular holiday island of Furuholmen are very close by. We believe we can offer you a really nice holiday spot for fishing groups or families who love fishing. The property is located very close to the sea in the mouth of the Audna with the best conditions for sea fishing on the offshore archipelago and plateaus. There are also many tour and leisure opportunities. The house is only about 20 minutes by car from the center of Mandal, and the area offers a lively public life with many events and summer highlights in the summer months. It is not far to the grocery stores in Vigeland (4 KM), and Spangereid is also only 15 minutes away by car.

The property has been renovated and was tastefully furnished before the rental began. The beautiful kitchen is a highlight of the property. The generously divided living space with a master bathroom and a guest toilet extends over the two upper floors of the house with its own entrance and fireplace area. We recommend the property for a maximum of 6 adults + 2 children, as there are 3 separate bedrooms with a total of 4 single beds, 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed and a sofa bed in the fireplace room.
Look forward to the well-equipped, open kitchen with side-by-side cooling and a large, open living area. A fireplace in the large entrance hall provides cozy warmth. The guest toilet is on the ground floor and on the upper floor there is a master bathroom with double washbasin, toilet and shower and dressing room. There is also an extra utility room with washing machine, dryer and freezer. To the south there is a large terrace with a rock garden directly next to the house, with an adjacent garage. The house has a mooring for the included boat (approx. 50 meters from the house), you just have to cross the street and you are at the boat. Sandy bathing bays and play areas for children are a stone's throw away, e.g. on Furuholmen or on Audnastrand. On Furuholmen, right nearby, there is a boat filling station in the season, as well as a summer kiosk with irregular opening times. Note: On the ground floor of the house there is a granny flat that is rented out to nice tourists.

Freshwater fishing / in the surrounding lakes and streams:

The salmon river Audna (50 km long) flows through the Audnedalen from Ytre Øydnevann to the Snigsfjord by the sea. The river course is very varied and calm stretches alternate with rapids and waterfalls. The width varies between 10 and 20 m and the fishing depends heavily on the water level. The first few days after heavy rainfall produce the best results.

In the Audna you are only allowed to fish with a state license for salmon and sea trout. You can get this online or by post. You also need a permit from the landowner. You can get this from the tourist office in Mandal or Lindesnes Tel: 0047 38258068. In many You can get the cards from shops along the river. The prices are low for the really good salmon fishing. Other salmon rivers in the area are the Mandalselva and the Lyngna.

The Audna has seven fishing zones: Interesting Zone 1-3
Zone 1: From the mouth of the sea to Ystholen. The river flows calmly and offers dry fly opportunities for sea trout in the evening hours.
Zone 2: Ystholen up to 150 m below Melhusfoss. Some nice sections for fly fishing. Particularly recommended at medium or low water when no fish are crossing the Melhusfoss.
Zone 3: Melhusfoss. By far the best place. Only a few day tickets are issued and two landowners can fish.
The licenses must be ordered from Audna Fiskerettforening by May 1st and are not particularly cheap.

There are many beautiful fishing spots in the area - for trout, char and sea trout. On the website Suednorwegen.org you can find everything about southern Norway. Boat additional costs:
Also included are the costs for berth and boat inventory, hull insurance with up to 1000 euros deductible depending on boat type and insurance, and the necessary safety features and equipment according to Norwegian law.
Exclusive and not included in the rental price: insurance for passengers and accident protection, personal liability insurance, excess coverage, consumables, fuel and lubricants.

Boat insurance - hull:
Your boat has hull insurance. The excess in the event of damage is 1,000 euros. The type of insurance and the amount of the excess can vary; this should be requested from the boat owner when taking over the boat and documented on the checklist. Personal items are not insured. The hull insurance does not cover accidental damage suffered by people traveling on the rental property. The renter is liable for damage to and loss of the boat unless the damage is covered by the insurance. Damage also includes consequential damage. The landlord/owner can keep the deposit paid until the damage is repaired. The excess per claim is to be paid by the renter and may differ from the deposit. If the boat is returned without defects, the deposit will be refunded immediately. Any damage not covered by the deposit or insurance must be compensated for by the renter immediately before departure. The renter undertakes to report any damage, collisions, other unusual occurrences or complaints to the landlord/owner immediately.

boat license:
Guests born before January 1, 1980 do not need a license for motorboats of this class in Norway. For younger people, a boat license for boats with more than 25 HP is mandatory.

Binding rules of conduct - tenant's liability:
We expect the boat captain to strictly abstain from alcohol on board. This is solely for your safety.
The renter is liable for damage caused by himself and also for all damage caused by other users of the boat. The renter and all other users use the boat at their own risk. The renter must inform his crew in good time that they will take out adequate insurance against damage events before the start of the trip. In addition, the boat operator must familiarize the crew with the boat technology and the contract conditions and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets on trips.

Trips are permitted until dusk in the adjacent and suitable waters of the home port and near the coast. In adverse wind and weather conditions, trips to the open sea are generally prohibited.
A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to comply with maritime regulations may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement by the landlord/owner. Any claims by the tenant are then deemed to be forfeited.

Handover - return of boat:
The use of the boat is generally tied to the rental period of the booked object.
Equipment and inventory will be handed over/collected upon arrival according to the checklist sent to you.
